Hernando A-Fair
On Saturday, May 21, the quaint little town of Hernando, Mississippi held its annual A-Fair. This year, members of the Varina Howell Davis #2559 United Daughters of the Confederacy were there to sell their wares. At an adjoining tent, the Samuel Hughey camp Sons of Confederate Veterans was also represented.
This is usually an opportunity for the local SCV and UDC to recruit new members, inform people about what we do, and sell homemade crafts and food. It is a really fun way to meet the public and spend time with fellow members.
An added attraction this year were several musicians (myself included) who performed period music for fair-goers. All in all, it was a fun-filled day with a great turn out. Thanks everyone for your participation! (You know who you are!)
